Hong Kong anti-corruption officers have arrested 19 people, including two jockeys, in one of the biggest horse-race fixing investigations in recent years.

The raids were made late on Wednesday night, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) said in a statement issued last night. The ICAC declined to identify the jockeys.

Those arrested include four Hong Kong Jockey Club employees, a suspected illegal bookmaker, a saleswoman and a gambling consultant.

ICAC investigators also seized computers and betting records at two premises in Happy Valley, where the oldest of Hong Kong's two race tracks is located, the agency said.

"It was alleged that two jockeys and the four Hong Kong Jockey Club employees had accepted advantages from illegal bookmakers as rewards for supplying stable racing information and manipulating race results," the ICAC statement said.

Officials from the Jockey Club, which holds gaming monopoly in Hong Kong, were not immediately available for comment.
