A man accused of shooting another man in the head as he slept is due to go on trial at the Central Criminal Court on Thursday next.
Trevor McCabe (35), Mountpleasant, Ballyconnell, Co Cavan, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Darren McGrath at his home in Belturbet, Cavan, in May 2008.
Mr McGrath (33) died after sustaining two gunshot wounds to the head.
His partner, who was asleep next to him at the time, escaped injury.

A jury of six men and six women has been sworn in for the trial which is expected to last until the end of the month.
