Kuala Lumpur - Support for the detained former deputy prime minister, Mr Anwar Ibrahim, gathered momentum yesterday with a two-hour peaceful meeting near the National Palace and plans for more rallies in coming weeks.

But a minister in Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed's cabinet accused Mr Anwar, who initiated a reform movement when he was sacked from the cabinet on September 2nd, of attempting a "revolution."
