President of Siptu Jack O’Connor has said that a clarification issued by the Labour Court in relation to the current dispute at Coca- Cola HBC offered a fair settlement and the potential to protect a significant number of jobs, writes Martin Wall.
Mr O’Connor said that in its clarification the Labour Court had maintained that it did not accept that the redundancies at issue in the company “could properly be characterised as other than compulsory in nature”.
Mr O’Connor said that it had also reaffirmed the view that talks could save the jobs at the company’s Ballycoolin depot.
