Armed raiders held up a security van delivering cash to the AIB Bank in Finglas, Dublin at 10.30 a.m. yesterday.

Armed raiders held up a security van delivering cash to the AIB Bank in Finglas, Dublin at 10.30 a.m. yesterday.

The raiders, who were travelling on a high-powered motorcycle, got away with a cashbox which was later found minus its contents of up to £20,000, between the Fairlawn Industrial Estate and the Finglas Road. An angle grinder was used to open the box.

Gardai have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on (01) 834 3581.

One of the raiders was described as aged 20 to 25, of slim build, wearing a black helmet, a red T-shirt, light blue jeans and white boot-type runners. He was carrying a double-barrelled shotgun.
