Athens - President Vladimir Putin said yesterday that Russia was seeking a full say in NATO affairs after the alliance decided to set up a new joint council but did not grant Moscow veto rights.

Mr Putin argued during a visit to Greece that he was not seeking preferential treatment from NATO in response to his decision to openly support the US-led campaign in Afghanistan.
