Police and the Coastguard today resumed their search for an elderly couple whose car was found abandoned with its keys in the lock two days ago.

Concerns have been growing for Robin and Margaret Wilson, from Newtownabbey, who are both in their 70s, after their blue Citroen C5 car was found lying open at Ballintoy Harbour in north Antrim on Friday.

Money and personal belongings were found inside the vehicle.

The Wilsons are regular visitors to the area.

A police helicopter was deployed during yesterday afternoon's search.

Detectives have appealed for anyone who may have seen the couple to contact them.
