Paris - The French President, Mr Jacques Chirac, breaking with precedent, will not have an Armistice Day wreath laid on the grave of Marshal Petain, first World War hero turned second World War traitor, the President's office said yesterday.
Mr Chirac's predecessors, including Charles de Gaulle, Petain's die-hard foe, had wreaths laid on the grave on the 50th, 60th and 70th anniversaries of the end of the first World War
