A group representing victims of violence in Northern Ireland and their relatives will urge the British government to provide more compensation for bereaved families to help "heal" their communities. The group will be addressing a fringe meeting at the Conservative Party Conference in Bournemouth tomorrow.
Families Acting for Innocent Victims (FAIR) has been invited to speak at a meeting of the Friends of the Union by the Conservative Northern Ireland Committee vice-chairman, Mr Andrew Hunter. It is expected to share a platform with the Northern Ireland First Minister, Mr David Trimble.
The group, which was established in south Armagh last month in response to the release of paramilitary prisoners, is calling for greater recognition of the economic and social problems faced by bereaved families.
