Johannesburg - Mr Robert McBride, the South African foreign ministry official held in Mozambique on charges of spying and gun-running, has been nominated by the ANC as a candidate in next year's election, press reports said yesterday.
Mr McBride won the vote of more than the required five ANC branches to qualify as a candidate for the general elections set for next May, the Mail and Guardian reported.
