HOBART - The man accused of the worst mass killing in modern Australian history pleaded not guilty to 35 counts of murder in a Tasmanian court yesterday.

Mr Martin Bryant (29) denied a further 20 charges of attempted murder and 17 lesser charges arising from the massacre on April 28th at the historic penal colony of Port Arthur in Tasmania. His not guilty pleas means the case will have to go to a full trial which is expected to start on November 19th.
