Man arrested over shooting in Border village

Police and gardaí investigating the murder of Keith Rodgers in the Border village of Cullaville arrested a man today.

Police and gardaí investigating the murder of Keith Rodgers in the Border village of Cullaville arrested a man today.

Mr Rodgers (24), with an address at Hackballscross, Co Louth, a short distance from where he was shot, died following a short confrontation between two groups yesterday morning.

He suffered three gunshots to the chest and died later in Louth County Hospital in Dundalk.

The shooting happened at a junction near Malachy Conlon Park, a small residential area in the village.

Two other men were injured in the shooting. One is being treated for head wounds in Louth County Hospital; a third has been treated for wounds to his leg at Daisy Hill Hospital in Newry, Co Down.
