A 70-year-old man who lived alone died in hospital last night shortly after a neighbour found him tied up in his house at Brican's Park, Arbour Hill, Dublin. Gardai said a neighbour entered the man's house at about 6.30 p.m. after "hearing a commotion".
The man was alive when the neighbour found him, but died a short time later. Gardai said they had no motive for the assault last night and are awaiting a post-mortem result.
