Forty jobs have been created in Limerick by a transport company which has located its new call centre in the city.

Walsh Western Ireland (WWI) announce today that the hiring of the staff has been completed and the additional staff have started work in the company's new offices in the city at a business park along the Dock Road. This brings to 70 the number of people employed in the city.

The company employs another 150 people at its headquarters in Dublin and has a Cork office with 15 staff. The company employs more than 1,000 people and has operations in Britain and Holland.

The company said it expected to further expand its work force in the New Year.
