A circuit court judge yesterday described as a “neighbour from hell” a 72-year old man who systematically harassed a young married couple living next door.
At Ennis Circuit Court, Judge Rory McCabe described the behaviour of Michael McNamara of Moymore North, Liscannor, Co Clare, as “threatening, abusive, unreasonable and displayed a lack of humanity that brings shame on himself, his family and anyone who has dealings with him”.
McNamara was in court yesterday appealing a conviction in the district court in July 2008 where a judge imposed a six-month jail term after finding him guilty of harassing his neighbours, Robert and Eleanor Kennedy, between May 5th, 2005, and January 12th, 2006.
Judge McCabe dismissed McNamara’s appeal and suspended the six-month jail term for two years.
