Jordan's prosecutor has released on bail two editors charged with blasphemy for republishing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad that have caused outrage across the Muslim world.
Judicial sources said Jihad Momani and Hashem Khalidi of the weekly tabloids Shihanand al-Mihwarwere released on 500 dinars (€600) bail by judge Sabri Rawashdeh, who had previously turned down two requests.

The editors appeared last week before the Amman magistrates court; both pleaded not guilty to two charges of blasphemy and defamation almost a week after their arrest on February 4th.
Their trial is expected later this week, a court source said.
