Additional health certification requirements have been introduced for horses imported from l'Herault, Gard and Bouches-du-Rhone departments in the south of France, - following a number of confirmed cases of west Nile fever in horses in that region.

Similar measures have been taken in relation to for horses from the States of New York, (including New York city), New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island in the US, where cases have also been confirmed.
