French vessel detained by naval service

The Irish Naval Service has detained a French-registered fishing vessel on suspicion of breaching fishing regulations.

The Agoretta was detained by the LE Niamh 150 miles west of the Blasket Islands off the Kerry coast.

It has been escorted to Castletownbere where inspectors from the Department of the Marine will board the vessel this afternoon.
