A man is in a critical condition in hospital and a second man is expected before a special sitting of Listowel District Court tomorrow following an apparent family row in Co Kerry last night.
The injured man, who is in his fifties and with an address at Ballygologue in Listowel, Co Kerry, was taken to Tralee General Hospital following an alleged assault at his home at 10 p.m. yesterday. He is reported to have sustained serious injuries in the attack.
The alleged assailant, who is in his late twenties and shares a surname with the injured man, was arrested and questioned at Listowel Garda Station under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act.
