Two police officers are suffering from shock, but are otherwise unhurt, after an explosive device was thrown at their patrol car in Cookstown, Co Tyrone.

The explosion, which lifted the rear of the car off the ground, happened on Sunday night. Dissident republicans are being blamed by security sources for the attack, which was described as a murder attempt by the Rev William McCrea, DUP MLA for the area.
