Lecture on the role of Higher Education at UL

The Department of Sociology at UL is hosting a public lecture on the role that third-level education can play in promoting a just and equal society. It will be delivered by Prof Kathleen Lynch of UCD Equality Studies at 6pm on Thursday, March 11th in lecture theatre CSGO1 in the Computer Sciences Building, UL. Free Maths Tuition for Leaving Certificate Students at Griffith College

Griffith College is offering a maths revision support course for Leaving Certificate students at its South Circular Road campus in Dublin on Saturday, March 20th and Sunday, March 21st. This course is being offered free of charge to any Leaving Certificate student who requires extra help with their exam preparation. Due to a limited number of places, advanced booking is essential. Students should register for a place at gcd.ie before close of business on Friday, March 19th.

Irish Language Proficiency Exams

Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) Irish language proficiency exams will take place in eight centres throughout Ireland in April and May – Maynooth, Kilkenny, Cork city, Limerick city, An Spidéal, Castlebar, Letterkenny and Gaoth Dobhair. Exams will also take place in New York, London, Prague and Paris. These exams give adult learners of Irish an opportunity to assess their level. The closing date for applications is March 19th. Dyslexia Conference

2010 Challenges and Perspectives in Higher Education is the title of a conference which will examine current challenges in higher education.
