Back to the hills of Donegal

Paul Hannigan, originally from Ballyshannon, Co Donegal, goes home to his native county as the newly appointed director of Letterkenny RTC, starting tomorrow morning. He replaces Micheal O Neill, who returns to his duties in the Department of Education and Science.

Hannigan (33), who is married, was educated at De La Salle College in Ballyshannon. He went to UCD where he completed a B.Comm in 1985 and an MBS in 1986. Following graduation he worked for a short while as administrative officer with the Norther Regional Fisheries Board in Ballyshannon.

In 1987 he joined Dundalk RTC as a lecturer in business studies; he became head of that department in 1992.
