Education tax relief in Bill

The Minister for Education has welcomed two sections of the Finance Bill which provide tax relief for third level education.

The Minister for Education has welcomed two sections of the Finance Bill which provide tax relief for third level education.

One allows relief on donations to publicly funded third level institutions in areas such as funding research and providing facilities to increase student numbers to meet skills shortages.

The second aims to encourage private sector investment in third level institutions buildings, machinery and plant. It provides, on a three year pilot basis, for tax based reliefs for packages involving sale and lease back arrangements.
