Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri has dropped Damien Duff from the Blues' first eleven, ahead of tonight's Champions League opener against Sparta Prague.

The Irish winger's place has gone to Emmanuel Petit.

The switch comes a day after Duff openly criticised his bosses' selection policy, complaining that he was substituted in 'every game' and that playing in different positions in the Chelsea side 'doesn't help' his game.
