Cyclist (14) dies in Clare collision

A young cyclist was killed after being struck by a car on the road from Ennistymon to Lahinch in Co Clare last night.

A young cyclist was killed after being struck by a car on the road from Ennistymon to Lahinch in Co Clare last night.

The 14-year-old boy was cycling between the two towns at approximately midnight when the collision occurred.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

The boy’s body has been taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick for a postmortem examination.
