Victoria Beckham and husband David have decided to name their daughter Harper Seven.
The girl was delivered at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles yesterday and weighed 7lb 10oz.
On his Facebook page, Beckham said: "I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham." He added his wife was doing really well.
He did not provide an explanation for the choice of name although it would appear that the Seven is a reference to his shirt number when he was a player at Manchester United.
She joins her brothers Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz Beckham.
Unusual names are not unheard of among the rich and famous.
Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools seem to have taken some inspiration from a Winnie The Pooh story.
Poppy Honey was followed by Daisy Boo, then Petal Blossom Rainbow and Buddy Bear.
And Jonathan Ross’s family includes children Betty Kitten, Honey Kinney and Harvey Kirby.
