Two Irish writers have been honoured in London for their contribution to architecture

Two Irish writers have been honoured in London for their contribution to architecture. The Irish Timesenvironment editor Frank McDonald and Architecture Ireland editor Sandra O'Connell were last night awarded honorary fellowships by the Royal Institute of British Architects.

The annual fellowships were awarded to McDonald, for being a “watchdog for architecture and a whistleblower on poor development”, and to O’Connell, who was commended for her work as editor and for founding Open House Ireland, where public and private buildings open their doors to the public.
