Oxfam is preparing to send a 40 tonne shipment of water and sanitation equipment to help refugees fleeing Afghanistan.
A DC8 plane will leave Manston Airport in Kent with £185,000 worth of pumps, buckets and other equipment.
It is estimated there are 45,000 refugees in camps on the Pakistan-Afghanistan boarder.
The charity hopes it will be the first of several similar humanitarian missions to the area.
