Publican Charlie Chawke of the Goat Inn in Goatstown, Co Dublin, has been refused planning permission for a mixed development of over 160,000 sq ft beside the business premises. It was to have included office and light industrial units, 114 apartments, a medical centre, creche and two restaurants.

Meanwhile, Shannon Homes has just secured permission for 499 houses for a site at Blanchardstown Heath, Mulhuddart. The overall development was 726 homes.

In Donabate, Noel McAllister has got the green light to proceed with 158 homes at Beaverstown.
