The latest auctioneering firm to make a pitch for the lucrative Dalkey market is none other than Jackson-Stops. It has quietly sold all the Dalkey houses on its books, ranging in price from £200,000 (€253,947) to over £1 million (€1.27m) and it now intends to mailshot likely vendors in the area. Lisney will remain its main competitor in the village, with Sherry FitzGerald also chasing business. Despite the general slowdown, Dalkey still continues to attract buyers because of its good pubs and restaurants and the fact that one might have a celebrity as a next door neighbour.
