Security Loop, $25

One product that certainly deserves to make it past the concept stage is this new security cable. Designed to secure your valuables when you’re out and about, it will not only lock everything down as much as possible but it will emit an alarm should someone decide to cut its woven steel cable.

The device comes with a combination lock and cable. If you need to secure your valuables – bike, laptop bag etc – you simply use the cable to fix it to a secure point and plug the loop back the device’s main body. It is compact, lightweight and convenient and has the handy addition of an alarm if it is tampered with.

Oakley 3D Gascan, $120

No one likes wearing 3D glasses at the cinema. They are annoying at best, uncomfortable at worst and, let’s face it, they’re not the most fashionable of items. But rest assured, glasses companies have been hard at work on fixing the last problem at the very least.

Oakley has unveiled a new pair of 3D glasses that will not only work in most cinemas, they could even be described as verging on stylish. Add to that the fact that they are optically correct, and Oakley might be on to a winner here. Oakley 3D Gascan glasses can be used in any cinema with RealD and uses lens technology to give you a better, sharper image than your €1.50 cinema glasses ever will.

You also eliminate the “ghosting” or “crosstalk” between the images, while colours are better than your average 3D glasses.

Otterbox Reflex case, $45

Otterbox has developed a name for itself for durable cases for your electronics, but the latest line of Reflex cases also has the advantage of being stylish too. The case has been designed with the idea of “crumple zones” on a car in mind. It surrounds your device with an air cushion so should you drop it, the case will absorb the impact and spring back into shape. Unlike some cases, it is slim and won’t add too much bulk to your phone.

Available for the iPhone 4, BlackBerry Curve and fourth generation iPod Touch, the Reflex case splits in half so you can dock the device without having to remove the entire cover.
