Just in time for the Christmas rush, a new dedicated wine website (www.wineonline.ie) has been launched in the Republic. Offering 500 wines which are categorised across region, price and variety, the site is easy to get around, and acts as both a shop and a source of education.
There are plenty of bargains on offer including Case of the Month and Party Specials. Cookery experts offer their suggestions for which variations of grape are suited to particular foods. There is also an online wine tutorial for beginners, and for more serious wine lovers, a Wine Club forum where views can be aired and shared. Wine Online promises free delivery to any address in Ireland within five working days.
The site, which was created by wine buffs, Ms Anne Mullin and Mr Gerry Fitzsimons, is also aimed at the international market.
