Consumers may now compare lending rates online. Mortgage broker, The Irish Mortgage Corporation (IMC), has announced the availability of a Best Buys area in its website: www.irishmortgage.ie.
Borrowers may decide the type of mortgage they require and how they would like to see the league table presented. This may be by nominal rate, cost-per-thousand or APR. The request is then processed through the IMC lender database, which is updated four times daily, and the user is given a complete list of all lenders' rates. IMC says it is independent of all financial institutions and does not charge fees to residential borrowers - they charge the lenders.
