K&H, Irish Life target central, eastern Europe for acquisitions

K & H Bank, the Hungarian bank controlled by Kredietbank and Irish Life, is targeting neighbouring states in central and eastern Europe for expansion and is planning to have a joint venture life assurance business operational early next year.

Earlier this year, a consortium of Kredietbank and Irish Life paid £60 million to the Hungarian government for a 56 per cent stake in K & H.
