Bastian Schweinsteiger (pictured) is expected to be included in the German squad named today by Joachim Loew for the games against the Republic of Ireland and Sweden in Dublin and Berlin over the next couple of weeks.

The Bayern Munich midfielder has missed his country’s last three games through injury but should take a step towards reclaiming his place today. Goalkeeper Rene Adler may also make the travelling party after a good run of form for his club but Mario Gomez is ruled out of both matches by an ankle injury and Philipp Lahm is suspended for the game at the Aviva Stadium.
