National Hurling League Division One/ Waterford 3-21 Antrim 1-10: Waterford recovered from being three points in arrears after 20 minutes' playing with the wind to score a 17-point win over Antrim in the relegation series of the NHL at Dungarvan yesterday, the game having been moved after Walsh Park was deemed unplayable because of surface water.

The sides were level three times in the first quarter before Antrim's Michael Herron goaled from a 30-metre free on 20 minutes. Within a minute, however, Waterford full forward Séamus Prendergast rattled the net at the other end to make it 1-5 apiece.

The home side took the lead in the 24th minute, when Paul Flynn converted a free, and went on to score a further 1-5 without reply and lead at half-time 2-11 to 1-6.

Waterford began the second half by posting three points in six minutes. Antrim replied with two points but a succession of Waterford points and a John Mullane goal three minutes from the finish ensured Waterford's place in the top flight next season.
