St Jarlath's College, Tuam took the Aonghus Murphy Cup when they defeated Garbally College, Ballinasloe at Kenny Park, Athenry yesterday. It is their 42nd Connacht Colleges senior A football championship title.

The victors dominated in all sectors and, by the interval, they led by eight points - 1-6 to 0-1. St Jarlath's kept their sharpness and added a further 1-7, their goal arriving near the finish from Damian Joyce at left corner forward.
