With memories of their cracking Christmas tussle in the league far from faint, this promises to live up to its billing as the tie of the competition so far.
Shelbourne have Richie Foran back from Cyprus following his under-21 international debut on Friday, and he's set to lead their attack alongside Dessie Baker in the continued absence of Stephen Geoghegan, who remains sidelined with a knee injury.
Captain Pat Scully and goalkeeper Steve Williams, who almost certainly would have missed the original fixture, have recovered from their knocks.
Rovers, too, have availed of the enforced break to get captain Derek Tracey fit again following an ankle injury, while fellow midfielder Marc Kenny, out since mid December with a hamstring strain, is also available.
"We've had two very close games with Shelbourne already this season," said Rovers' manager, Damien Richardson. "They are the best team in the country. It's a huge game for us and a chance to see if we are ready to step up to the next level."
