Already boasting a fine junior career, winning a bronze medal in the European Junior Championships in 2018, representing Ireland as early as the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires that same year, Nguyen is one of the youngest members of Team Ireland. Born in Vietnam, his family moved to Dublin when he was six, his father introducing him to badminton. A consistent year saw him finish well inside the Tokyo quota, ranked 26th of the 38 automatic spots with 44 entries in all.
