A goal in each half from Jim McConville were the decisive scores for former All-Ireland club champions Crossmaglen Rangers who defeated Mullahoran 2-8 to 0-8 in their replayed quarter-final in the Ulster Club Football Championship at Breffni Park yesterday.

Meanwhile another late, late show from Antrim champions St John's has swept the Belfast side into the semi-finals as they elbowed out Ardboe by 2-8 to 1-5 in another quarter-final replay at Corrigan Park yesterday. Just as they did in the Antrim final against Dunloy, St John's cracked home a killer goal with a couple of minutes to go, but this time added another for good measure after they had been out of the game for most of the first half.

Two vital points from Bellaghy's long-serving midfielder Danny Quinn, one of them from a 45-metre sideline kick, ensured the Derry visitors eked out a deserved but far from certain victory from their absorbing encounter with Aodh Ruadh at Ballyshannon yesterday.

A gale force wind scuttled directly downfield and with it Aodh Ruadh needed to build more than a two-points, 1-5 to 0-6 half-time lead.
