Clara survive a late rising

Ard Scoil Chiarain, Clara withstood stood a second-half recovery by Athlone CC to recapture the Leinster Vocational Schools senior football title when they finished deserving winners of a dreadfully disappointing final in Tullamore.

At the break the Clara side led by 0-6 to 0-3. They soon established what looked like a winning 2-7 to 0-3 lead.

However, Athlone finally produced some good form, though their 58thminute goal came too late to salvage the game.
