The future of the game at the Beaverstown golf club is in safe hands with the double success of their under age teams this year. The boys from the North Dublin club won two pennants in two days with their under-18s successfully defending the Fingal League and the under-15s winning the Leinster club matchplay crown. This year 15 clubs contested Irish Nationwide, Phibsboro, sponsored event, which took place over eight weeks in July and August.

The format of the competition is four players from each club playing singles stableford with the best three cards to count. Points are awarded with 12 to the weekly winner, 10 for the second and so on down to one for the eighth team. The Beaverstown panel of Jonathan Kane, James Fleming, Patrick MacCallion, Keith Rowesome, Aaron Dunne, Karl Gregory, Chris Cullen, Glen Perry, Jamie Rowesome and Edward Martin beat Clontarf into second place with The Island third. And not to be outdone, the under-15s travelled to Castlewarden for the finals of the Leinster Championship and after an exciting 19th hole victory over Edenderry in the semi-final they went on to beat Elm Park 3-2 in an all Dublin final.

On their way to the final Beaverstown had victories over Corrstown, Donabate, The Island, Malahide and Dundalk.
