Madam, - I bought The Irish Times yesterday as I have done every day for possibly the last 25 years. I was horrified and shocked to see the photographs of British troops abusing Iraqi detainees.
Why did you have to publish such horrific photographs? I have two girls aged 14 and 17 who regularly read The Irish Times but yesterday I put it in the bin. I would not allow them to buy magazines with such photographs in them.
There is no reason to publish photographs like this. The detailed description is enough. We can all picture it in our minds. - Yours, etc.,
