Sir, – The joyous main photograph in Monday’s Sports Supplement of the celebrating Meath Women’s Senior Football champions reinforces The Irish Times’ reputation as a diverse and modern institution.
But, dear editor, hold your horses before breaking out the celebratory bottle of kudos; having scoured the rest of the supplement I can find no mention of any women’s GAA games (including the above mentioned Meath women’s game).
The Meath men’s final report is given a quarter page, and valuable space is also found for 14 other men’s final reports. Perhaps the front page photograph was just tokenism. Perish the thought. – Yours, etc,
