Madam, – Some 361,000 job announcements and plans were advised by politicians, political parties or Government agencies in the month of March so far ( Irish Timesarchive).

1. Leo Varadkar’s plan to take 70,000 people off the dole within 18 months. 2. Simon Coveney’s NewERA plan to create over 105,000 jobs. (Fine Gael Conference, March 22nd). 3. The draft report of the Innovation Taskforce said almost 120,000 new jobs could be created if Ireland transforms itself into an innovation centre. 4. Tánaiste Mary Coughlan launched “Horizon 2020”. A target of 105,000 new jobs by 2014 was announced. (Michael Hennigan, Opinion, March 11th). 5. Fás and the ESRI issued a report, which predicted that 250,000 net new jobs would be created by 2015 (Breaking News, March 2nd). 6. More than 6,000 jobs could be created if Ireland makes a concerted effort to bring international students here, according to a new policy document from Fine Gael (Home News, March 19th).

Is it possible to get some co-ordinated action rather than words?

What an impact these would have on the 434,000 presently on the dole.
