Sir, – You state that St Brendan's Community School, Birr, is to receive a grant of €124,000 from the Getty Foundation (News, October 27th). The €124,000 has been awarded to Queen's University Belfast for the preparation of a conservation management plan for St Brendan's Community College. There are a lot of very excited parents in Birr who think the school has come in for a windfall when in fact none of the money will actually go to the school. – Yours, etc,
