Sir, I am writing concerning a letter printed in your paper about a proposed biography of Peadar O'Donnell, described as the first biography of him. One of your very own journalists, Michael McInerney, wrote a biography of O'Donnell which was published by us in 1974. My memory tells me that Bucknell University Press also published a biography.
My, father, who was a political associate of Peadar O'Donnell years ago, introduced me to him and we subsequently published a number of his novels. While I wish the project well, it certainly won't be the first biography of O'Donnell. - Yours, etc.,
