Madam, – What a delight to see thousands attend Rally for Life, a peaceful well-planned rally, on July 5th, from the Garden of Remembrance to the Dáil, which did not make the headlines in the national media. It was my first time, and to see people from all walks of life, young and not so young, walk in the spirit of life was amazing. They even ran out of communion hosts at the Mass beforehand.
We had the presence of the Dominican priests, and the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.
I witnessed the spirit of friendship and community in this gathering among strangers.
The rally was organised by Precious Life in Belfast, and Youth Defence in Dublin, and supported by other pro-life groups. It will now take place annually, and will be in Belfast next year.
We need to encourage all our diocesan clergy, and others in society including our politicians who may be a little shy, or indifferent to come to the rally and be alerted to the insidious methods used by the anti-life agenda in society. – Yours, etc,
