A 73-year-old woman is critically ill after a house fire in Northern Ireland.

A 73-year-old woman is critically ill after a house fire in Northern Ireland.

The woman was rescued from the house on Rowan Road in Ballymoney, Co Antrim, last night by firefighters.

According to the PSNI, a call to emergency services was made at about 8pm, but the victim had been taken from the house by then.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
