The singer was driven to Holborn Police Station shortly before 5.10pm.

Media reports said she is accused of attacking two men early on Wednesday morning -allegedly headbutting one who tried to help her by hailing a taxi outside a bar and punching a second man in the face.

Winehouse's troubled personal life has eclipsed her musical success in recent months.

In February she won five Grammy wards, but she has repeatedly sought help for drug addiction. Her husband is in jail awaiting trial on charges of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

The singer did not attend court when her husband appeared today.
